PUBLICATION OF INFORMATION FOR ASSESSMENT ON PRELIMINARY DOCUMENTATION UNDER SECTION 95B OF THE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION ACT 1999 (EPBC Act)

Invitation for Public Viewing

Lot 16 Barfield Road: Residential Development (EPBC 2023/09450)

Gold Estates Holdings Pty Ltd (the proponent) propose to develop Lot 16 and a portion of Lot 38 Barfield Road, Hammond Park, Western Australia for residential purposes.

The proposed action has been determined to be a controlled action on 29 March 2023 under the EPBC Act and will be assessed through Preliminary Documentation (PD). The relevant matters protected by Part 3 (Section 18 & 18A) of the EPBC Act are listed threatened species and communities including:

  • Banksia Woodlands of the Swan Coastal Plain Threatened Ecological Community – Endangered
  • Carnaby’s black cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus latirostris) – Endangered
  • Forest red-tailed black cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii naso) – Vulnerable
  • Grand Spider-orchid (Caladenia huegelii) – Endangered
  • Dwarf Hammer-orchid (Diuris micrantha) – Vulnerable
  • Chuditch (Dasyurus geoffroii) – Vulnerable

The PD was published for 20 business days for public comment, with one (1) submission received.

Under Section 95B(2) of the EPBC Act, the following material will be re-published for viewing only:

  • The submission and a response to the submission received.
  • Preliminary Documentation Report (EPBC 2023/09450). This includes the original referral documentation and associated attachments.
